چکیده

Abstract Biological muscles mainly consist of motor proteins that play essential roles and have a hierarchical structure covered with collagen can transmit the tension to bones via tendons. The artificial reconstruction is highly expected from viewpoint engineering biology. Although been developed synthetic biological molecular motors, there considerable gap between components muscles, resulting in significant obstacle further scale‐up force transfer through macroscale structures. To overcome these obstacles bioderived biomolecules, this study proposes collagen‐actomyosin hybrid soft actuator inspired by muscles. Collagen gel entrapping actomyosin maintaining actuator's shape transmitting tensile force. generated forces reach micro‐newton range, enabling actuation millimeter‐scale mechanical components. These properties may be helpful for fabrication robotic systems advanced functionalities.

Progress in development of bioderived materials for dermal wound healing

Treatment of acute and chronic wounds is one of the primary challenges faced by doctors. Bioderived materials have significant potential clinical value in tissue injury treatment and defect reconstruction. Various strategies, including drug loading, addition of metallic element(s), cross-linking and combining two or more distinct types of materials with complementary features, have been used to...

Near-infrared luminescent copolymerized hybrid materials built from tin nanoclusters and PMMA.

Novel near-infrared (NIR) luminescent copolymerized hybrid materials were prepared by covalently grafting and physically doping Ln complexes (Ln = Er, Sm, Yb, and Nd) into a copolymer matrix built from nanobuilding blocks. The structures of the obtained hybrid materials were investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), gel permeation chromatograph...

Structure and magnetism of new hybrid cobalt hydroxide materials built from decorated brucite layers.

The structure, synthesis and magnetic properties of three new complex cobalt hydroxyl oxalates are presented, showing a modification of the 2-D double layer hydroxide structure. Co(12)(OH)(18)(ox)(3)(pip) [ox = oxalate, C(2)O(4)(2-); pip = piperazine, C(4)N(2)H(10)] (1), is essentially built from brucite-like layers with a one ninth depletion of the octahedral sites and a preservation of a trig...

A stochastic model for a macroscale hybrid renewable energy system

The current supply for electricity generation mostly relies on fossil fuels, which are finite and pose a great threat to the environment. Therefore, energy models that involve clean and renewable energy sources are necessary to ease the concerns about the electricity generation needed to meet the projected demand. Here, we mathematically model a hybrid energy generation and allocation system wh...

Swelling-induced deformations: a materials-defined transition from macroscale to microscale deformations.

Swelling-induced deformations are common in many biological and industrial environments, and the shapes and patterns that emerge can vary across many length scales. Here we present an experimental study of a transition between macroscopic structural bending and microscopic surface creasing in elastomeric beams swollen non-homogeneously with favorable . We show that this transition is dictated b...
